Ductile Iron Casting

The sand casting process involves the use of a furnace, metal, pattern, and sand mold. The metal is melted in the furnace and then ladled and poured into the cavity of the sand mold, which is formed by the pattern.

Chemical composition for ductile iron castings must be guaranteed to reach the provisions of ductile cast iron grade and the corresponding mechanical properties is usually decided by the manufacturers themselves. Therefore, in the formulation of the technical requirements of ductile iron castings, generally do not put the chemical composition as the main technical requirements. China has formulated the "Ductile Iron Castings" standard (GB1348----1988), and clearly defined the requirements of ductile iron castings. In general, the technical requirements of ductile iron castings should include: mechanical properties, geometry and dimensions.
